vinBalance was born when a experienced and successful winery owner collaborated with an established software firm .

Eric Rindal founded Waterbrook Winery in 1984 as one of the pioneer wineries in the Walla Walla valley. He grew Waterbrook to be the largest in the Walla Walla valley with a well-established tasting room and national distribution.

In 2002 Eric approached Software Planning in search of a comprehensive accounting solution. Existing software on the market didn't provide the accurate cost information he needed to run his winery in an ever more competitive environment. He also wanted absolute integration so that every member of his staff could work together as a team.

Software Planning has worked since 1982 to provide complete accounting and inventory solutions to customers in a variety of industries. Larry Nelson and Jodi Emtman each have decades of experience in carefully analyzing business problems and developing software to meet the need.

Two years of careful collaboration and development led to vinBalance, a comprehensive software package that begins at the cellar door and carries all the way to the tasting room. Every aspect of winery operation is managed in a single software system with no duplication of effort.

With each vintage, vinBalance continues to grow in scope, sophistication and ease of use. User driven development continues to refine vinBalance to the needs of a changing industry.
